Design Advantages Of A Loft Ladder

About Me
Creating A Home You Can Be Proud Of

As soon as I purchased my first place, I knew that I needed to step up my interior design game. After I moved all of my apartment furniture into the space, I could tell that things needed to be tweaked slightly. My apartment furniture was smaller than my home, and it made everything look silly. To resolve my design dilemma, I spent a little time going through interior design magazines and deciding how I wanted my home to look. I also invested in better furniture and high-end decor pieces. The difference that it made was incredible. This blog is all about creating a home that you will love forever.

Design Advantages Of A Loft Ladder

Having a loft with a comfortable living area or a bedroom is one of the easiest ways to maximize vertical space in your home. Some lofts use a staircase, but if you want access to the loft that takes up less square footage, a loft ladder is your best option. Unfortunately, it's easy for your ladder to be an eyesore that is merely for practicality. Though the ladder itself may be necessary, this is not. You can easily make your ladder an interesting design element that catches people's eye and adds style to your space. This article will help you if you're looking for ways to create a unique look that matches your style.

Color

It's easy to buy a loft ladder from home improvement stores. And while they do have a decent selection of options, maybe you're looking for something that stands out more than these generic options. A simple fix for this is to add some paint. Pick a paint that matches your room or one that stands out and will give you an interesting pop of color. Be sure to use acrylic and two-part epoxy paints as these will stand up to the traffic of feet climbing up and down the ladder.

Hardware

Handrails are an important part of a loft ladder because they provide extra support as you climb. They're especially helpful if you have children or older people who will be climbing the ladder. You can go with metal handles, wooden handles, or simple plastic handles that can be dressed up. You can buy metallic colored paints that can easily transform plastic handles to look like shiny copper for a fraction of the price of real metal piping. These finishes will give the room a funky industrial flare.

Style/Type

Most ladders that lead to a loft are leaning and anchored at the top. However, there are also many varieties of ladders that can be built into the wall. Having the ladder built in incorporates it as a design element that looks very intentional. It can then be painted the same color as the walls, or you can give it a nice wood stain. Use an outdoor deck stain that will be durable. You can also use heavy-duty pipe handles and place them all horizontally as rungs, for a simple yet interesting design.

As you look for loft ladders, you can compare many different styles of ladders and get ideas for what will work for you. There are multiple ways to make sure that the ladder you need doesn't compromise your style. Be sure to have a clear vision and then you can easily get creative and adjust the ladder to be a great addition to your space.
